Our story
Hockey For All is a grassroots campaign founded by Madi Staub, a student at Rustenburg Girls’ High School who first launched this initiative in Grade 5 at Sweet Valley Primary. Inspired by her own experiences playing hockey with donated equipment – and having noticed the struggles many players face, such as using ill-fitting shoes or sharing sticks – Madison created Hockey For All to ensure that every young athlete, regardless of background, has access to proper hockey gear.
We collect new and gently used equipment, including sticks, goalie kits, shin pads, gloves, stick bags, short corner masks, and hockey shoes. Our donations reach disadvantaged schools where players often lack access to essential kit, empowering them to enjoy the sport with confidence. Recently, we delivered four full goalie kits and over 50 hockey sticks to Lotus High School, in partnership with their principal, Mr. Stephen Price.
Hockey For All also encourages schools to become collection points for donations and invites Grade 12 learners nationwide to consider passing on their hockey kits at the end of their school journey – similar to the tradition of donating school shoes. Through community collaboration and generosity, we strive to widen access and grow the game we love.

our mission
At Hockey For All, our mission is to eliminate barriers that prevent young players from disadvantaged communities from participating in hockey. We are dedicated to collecting and redistributing quality new and second-hand hockey equipment, so that every aspiring player has the gear they need to play, develop, and succeed.
We believe hockey should be defined by passion, teamwork, and talent – not by financial means. By mobilizing community support and fostering a culture of giving, we aim to make the sport accessible and inclusive for all learners who dream of stepping onto the field.
